Faucet Repair, Shower Valve Replacement, and Fixture Installation
Full Nelson repairs and replaces kitchen faucets, bathroom faucets, shower valves, and plumbing fixtures from all major manufacturers. Our plumbers match replacement parts to your existing hardware and install new fixtures when repair is no longer practical.
Faucet Repair
A dripping faucet wastes water and usually indicates a worn internal component. The specific repair depends on the faucet type.
- Cartridge faucets: A single cartridge controls water flow and temperature. When the cartridge wears, the faucet drips or becomes difficult to turn. Cartridge replacement restores proper operation.
- Ball faucets: Use a rotating ball mechanism with spring-loaded seats and rubber seals. Leaks typically originate at the seats, springs, or O-rings around the ball.
- Ceramic disc faucets: Use two ceramic discs that slide against each other to control flow. These are durable, but sediment can score the disc surfaces or damage the seals over time.
- Compression faucets: The oldest design, using rubber washers that compress against a valve seat. Common in older homes. Washers wear out and need periodic replacement.
Hard water accelerates wear on all faucet types by depositing minerals on moving parts. Full Nelson repairs faucets from Moen, Delta, Kohler, Price Pfister, and other manufacturers.
Shower Valve Repair and Replacement
The shower valve is the mixing valve behind the wall that blends hot and cold water to the temperature you set. When a shower valve fails,
you may experience:
- Difficulty maintaining a consistent temperature
- The handle becoming hard to turn or not responding to adjustment
- Water continuing to drip from the showerhead after the valve is turned off
- Sudden temperature swings when other fixtures are used in the house
- Reduced water pressure from only the shower
Shower valve replacement requires accessing the valve body behind the finished wall. In some cases, an access panel exists behind the shower wall. In others, the plumber creates an access opening, replaces the valve, and patches the opening. Full Nelson replaces shower valves from all major manufacturers and can match trim kits to maintain consistency with your existing bathroom hardware.
Fixture Installation
Full Nelson installs new plumbing fixtures for kitchen and bathroom remodels, upgrades, and replacements. Our plumbers connect the water supply lines, drain lines, and verify proper operation before finishing.
Fixture installation services include:
- Kitchen faucet installation, including pull-down, pull-out, and wall-mount styles
- Bathroom faucet installation for single-hole, widespread, and centerset configurations
- Shower fixture and trim installation
- Bathtub faucet and spout replacement
- Utility sink and laundry faucet installation
When installing new fixtures, we check the shut-off valves serving the fixture. Older gate valves or compression stops that do not close fully should be replaced at the same time to avoid future problems.
